What is this YOLO nonsense?

NB: For those of you who don't know, 'YOLO' stands for 'You Only Live Once.'

Let's make something very clear from the outset. YOLO is a new age concept that is used it to justify bad decisions, because of the superficial legitimacy that is unexplainably linked to it. In other words, the term has become the automatic go-to excuse for irresponsible behaviour amongst today's youth.

So let's say that hypothetically, you are in front of me and about to down 10 tequila shots. If you tell me that it's because you want to have a night off, I'd think WHAT A FANTASTIC IDEA. Everybody deserves a break once in awhile. However if your rationale starts with 'YO' and ends with 'LO,' then I'd be like great, well bloody done on your priorities in life. Ok not really, but I'd definitely cringe upon hearing that irritatingly overused term. I mean what the heck is YOLO anyway?  It honestly sounds like someone is trying to say YOYO with a waffle in their mouth.

Believe me, I'm all for having fun and going a bit mental once in awhile, but I am not a big fan of overtly shunning responsibility in the name of some badly formulated excuse called YOLO. Yes, we only live once, but look deeper beneath that meaning... You get ONE life to live to the fullest, to achieve what you're supposed to achieve, and to figure out what your purpose is. So if you really want to use that term, do it in the name of something fantastic and meaningful. Because it is not a legitimate excuse for cheating on your significant other, regularly throwing away cash on pointless nights that you will never even remember, or just irresponsible behaviour in general.

Call me overly serious, I don't particularly mind. I'd like to think that I'm a logical creature who will find a balance between chilling out and working hard, because having fun once in awhile is absolutely imperative for one's happiness.

In conclusion, forget this superficial YOLO nonsense. Look deeper behind the meaning. Take nights off, but play it smart. You only have one life to make the best of the resources and gifts that you have been given, so don't waste it all away by making consistently dumb decisions that result in unfruitful or negative repercussions.

the link between club behaviour and personality.

I admit that the title of this blog post might be confusing at face value. How can CLUBBING tell you anything about your personality, right? After all, it is a form of entertainment that is embedded in materialism and usually devoid of any real interaction between people. Resultantly, it is impossible to truly learn about a person's core character through such a pastime. However, I believe that the way someone handles themselves on a big night out can speak wonders about what they are generally like as a person.

I need to state from the outset that I did not write this post to pass judgement on anybody.  In hindsight of all my years of clubbing, I have simply become the patient observer of behavioural patterns, all of which I find incredibly interesting. This has allowed me to single out five categories (that are always present in any clubbing scenario) that can be used to gauge someone's personality. Let's look at each of these in detail, starting now!
.........

Appearances
I always say this: do not judge a person's appearance at the start of the evening. If you really want to tell whether they can carry themselves or not, wait for the end of the night. When people arrive at a club, they generally look immaculate. Ironically, you just have to give it a few hours before cracks begin to appear in that seemingly perfect facade. By then, the gentleman who you thought was so charming may very well have his head in his hands because of an overdose of alcohol. The girl with the amazing stilettos, well she's about to take them off to walk barefoot on the road. This is the time of the night when class turns to crass, and when you can actually see the few who remain impeccable.

Alcohol
The way a person drinks says plenty about them. Within this category, you will notice the spontaneous people who consume alcohol without a care in the world, or the ones who easily succumb to peer pressure. You will pick out the logical creatures who will be insistent on drinking sensibly. I myself have a tendency to fall in the category of the 'over-thinker.' I am generally a responsible drinker (with a few exceptions, wink wink), because I don't really have the time or will to go through hangovers anymore. But hey, if you're the carpe diem kind of person, that's totally awesome.

Money
In any situation, the way someone handles the bill is highly indicative of how they've been brought up, or what they believe in. Are they the kind of person who is insistent on buying a round, or would they just prefer to get their own individual drink? For example, I have some girlfriends who are completely adamant on not allowing guys to buy them drinks. This is completely fine, and simply signifies that they are strong women who prefer not to feel indebted to anybody.

Interactions
Would your friend ever leave you hanging just to pick someone else up, or is he or she the kind of person who will remain unfailingly by your side? Do you know someone who will remain angry and negative for the whole night if something does not go their way? How a person treats another, whether a friend, bartender or cleaner, will give you a good reflection of what they are all about. It is through here that you can gauge who you can really rely on to take care of you should something bad happen. Let's face it, strange things do happen in the dark.

Morals
Clubbing has the potential to be packed with every possible vice you can think of, and thus serves temptation on a silver platter. If you're in a relationship, would you cheat (either emotionally or physically) on your girlfriend or boyfriend? Could you end up succumbing to peer pressure if your friends ask you to try a certain substance? Would you leave your friend to go home with someone else? In situations that are so dangerously enticing, watch a way a person handles their code of morals.

.....

This blog post has been a somewhat cynical deconstruction of an activity that seems flippant at face value. However, I believe that it is this superficial nature that gives us the room to pinpoint aspects of someone's personality. In saying all of this,  the way a person clubs cannot possibly tell you everything there is to know about them, especially if they only visit such events once in awhile. As I acknowledged earlier, clubbing is an activity that is deficient of genuine conversation, and thus could never establish a complete overview of a person's character. What I am merely arguing is that you can single out specific personality traits by comparing how a person behaves to the listed categories.

A facade can only be held for so long before it starts to crumble. Club well, club right.

life is precious

Humans have this tendency to want to make their lives difficult for themselves. In fact, I am the champion of doing this. I tend to over-think and do what I think is smart, as opposed to what will actually make me happy.

For those of you who don't know, I am currently studying at the University of Melbourne, and I have been living a peaceful life here for the past two years. Today, a tragedy occurred on the street where my beloved institution is located, and I'm going to give you a play-by-play account of how I came to learn about what happened.

My friend and I had left the campus and were proceeding to walk towards the central business district, when we noticed a police car struggling to race downwards. After another block or so, we saw that that an entire intersection along the street had been barricaded. We realized that something terribly bad must have happened, and at that precise moment I received a text that answered our questions: 'Wall collapsed on Swanston Street. 2 people killed.'

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/teenage-victims-of-wall-collapse-were-in-the-wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time/story-e6frf7kx-1226608727684

It's hard to believe that the street that leads up to Australia's top university is now tainted with the tragic memory of the two people who lost their lives through something as accidental as the collapse of a wall. However, the horrendous incident also led to a woman being grievously injured. For all of you who are reading this, let us pray that she pulls through and survives. Let us also pray for the two people who were taken away, and for the families and friends who now have to grieve from the horrible tragedy.

When we wake up in the morning, we don't think that our siblings, parents or friends are going to be hurt by a freak accident. Even if we do vaguely speak about how today or tomorrow could be our last, what do we ever really do about it? In my case, I have the tendency to talk about how life is short and precious, and then I still allow myself to be affected by the smallest and stupidest things. What is even worse is that I sometimes actively deny myself of what truly makes me happy, because of reasons that usually revolve around my brain or ego. I am a typical human being, and I admit that sometimes I need to shelve my pride. I know that I am not the only one here.

As people, we end up being easily upset and dissatisfied, and sadly I find that we are always looking for reasons not to follow our hearts. The unfortunate thing is that most of us will never pull out of this mentality until something bad actually happens to wake us up. A common occurrence is that we might go through one day of being completely happy, and then the next thing we know, we're back to resuming our previous, redundant patterns. We just don't really realize the depth of how short life actually is.

I am here today to pose a challenge to myself, and to you. I want us to face the fact that life is bloody unpredictable. It is wild, painful and passionate. It is precious, thrilling and beautiful. It is short. Not to state the obvious, but you seriously will never know what is going to happen. Make it a point to ask yourself this: 'If today was my last day on this planet, am I doing what I would want to be doing?' Let us stop making ourselves unhappy. Let us realize how many good things we have, and quit all the stupid habits that blind us from being grateful. Maybe if we all start living a little bit more for ourselves, we would stop being so dissatisfied. Tell the people you love that you care about them. Live in such a way that your life becomes so fulfilled and devoid of any possible regrets, because time is precious and it is slipping away. I dare you to come with me on this challenge, because we owe it to ourselves to make the rest of our lives the best of our lives.

carpe that cynical diem

I admit that I, alongside many other people in the world, can be pretty cynical. However, let's firstly be very clear on what this word actually means. Cynicism can be defined as 'believing that people are motivated by self-interest,' or 'to be distrustful of human sincerity or integrity.'

Now where does such a mentality get us in life? Well.. It makes us doubtful. It helps us create guards. In fact, cynism makes us so well protected and introverted that we believe that nothing and no one can touch us, because we occasionally just have THAT little faith in human intentions. As Oscar Wilde once said, 'the cynic knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.'

It has taken me awhile to realize this, but being overly cynical is far from healthy.

It's a human trait to think too much, especially when you're faced with a situation where you know you will be left with an outcome that you may not be able to control. In fact, being out of control is pretty bloody terrifying for most of us, because humans are afraid of change. Nobody likes not knowing, especially when there is a potential for us to get shattered beyond our beliefs. So how do we respond? We build walls that are absolutely unbreakable. We convince ourselves that we are untouchable because we don't believe that humans could be that nice or sweet. In fact, maybe some of us have developed our cynical streaks because of the hurt we went through in the past. Going through our daily routines with an iron-strong mask then becomes a way of life.

So here is what really happens. We fixate on every potentially negative outcome, and so we do not enjoy the moment as much as we should. By questioning too much, we forget to live right here and right now.

It isn't easy, being in love with the present moment. In fact, learning to think like this is extremely difficult. But I have realized that by continuing to be cynical, I impede myself from achieving the best and truly being happy because I'm so darn afraid and negative. I know that this applies to a great majority of the population out there as well. Perhaps what's even more saddening is that there are so many less fortunate people who look at us and think: 'Those people are so lucky. They have legs, they have arms, they have potential. I wish I was them.' If they were in our shoes, I doubt they would be doing as much questioning as we do. They would probably forgo all the pessimism and just be happy.

So 2013 is the year for the cynics to stop being so cynical. Life does not have it in for us. Life owes us absolutely nothing. Carpe that cynical diem. Sometimes guards are completely necessary, but know when to shut them off. We need to stop being afraid, and embrace the fact that no matter what, we will be okay.

We have so much to be happy about, so turn off that negativity and smile! :-)

the 5 types of status updates that should be banned from facebook

So with this next post, I have a feeling I am going to get a paradoxical mixture of support and dislike. On that note, please bear in mind that I mean no offense to those people who might disagree with me. This topic is simply something that I feel very strongly about, and I know that it is a fair and justified one to discuss. Moving on....

I have accepted that in the digital age, social media has gained an unbelievable platform. Facebook in particular has become integral in our lives; we use the application for keeping in touch, organizing our events, and promotion and advertising. It is truly incredible. However, the downside of the application is the fact that people use it to post up ridiculous, overtly attention seeking gibberish.

THE 5 TYPES OF STATUS UPDATES THAT SHOULD BE BANNED FROM FACEBOOK

1. Confrontational/Hint messages.
'I can't believe you would do this to me.. You broke my heart. You betrayed me.' If you have a problem with someone, confronting them through the comfort of your Facebook status is slightly embarrassing.

2. Power claiming statuses
'Do not mess with me. It will be the biggest mistake you will ever make. I will destroy you.' Somehow, people seem to think that such statuses make them seem strong, intimidating and domineering. I am here to tell you that it does the exact opposite. People who are truly powerful do not need to make public (and cyber) spectacles out of it.

3. Attention seeking declarations of one's problems
'I am so upset. Can't believe this is happening.' These statuses are made to gain attention, and attention only.

4. Anything that includes the term 'FML'
This is perhaps one of the things that irks me the most. For those of you who don't know, FML means 'F**k my life.' I see posts that go along the lines of: 'So much work to do. FML.' Believe me, I understand that life can be challenging and stressful, but FML is an inappropriate and terrible term to use. So before you want to say 'FML,' think about the starving children in Africa, or the people who have cancer.

5. Redundant, unentertaining updates of one's life
'Went to the grocers today...wow it was sunny..' or 'My girlfriend and I just talked.' These are wallpaper posts. Unless something funny or significant happened, or you managed to give the status update a witty little twist, nobody cares. Post up a meme or an interesting link instead! Tell us about the time you met an old man who gave you excellent life advice!

                                                       ........

In essence, these 5 things all boil down to one underlying issue: ridiculously attention seeking statuses. What needs to be realized is that Facebook is not the best friend that we tell all our problems to.

On that note, I also understand that these status updates have nothing to do with me, and that people should be able to do whatever they want. But hey, here's a thought. Everything that we do in life, whether it is through social media, our dressing or our values, creates a very strong reflection of ourselves. Perhaps posting such statuses has become so common that it is now the acceptable norm. I beg to differ, fine sir.  I believe that a certain level of pride should be adopted when one wants to publish something on such a public scale.

Till the next time readers!

Change is good.

Now I am like most humans. I admit that change has the potential to terrify me, and it unfortunately often does. It's a psychological thing; humans get used to their comfort zones. Why fix something that is not broken, right? Consider Facebook. Everytime Mark Zuckerberg puts in one of his changes (IE Timeline), alot of people go mental because they are used to something else. Facebook is one small example, how about relationships? You know that the relationship is failing and yet you still want to work things out with your significant other. Again, this is nobody's fault. It is pretty bloody terrifying to have to change a cycle and to have to start over. Clinging onto comfort is a basic human trait, and we are all guilty of it. Let me tell you a little story.

When I was 18, I found out that after I finished up my A Levels, I was going to have to move to Singapore. That was difficult. I know I know, first world problems...The thing is, I had been in Malaysia for my entire life, and in the same school for a decade. You might think, what was the big deal Nadia? KL and Singapore are right next to each other, and only a couple of hours away. At the time, the only thing running through my mind was the knowledge that everything that I had known was about to undergo change, and I was 18 and not ready for it.

Then after a few months, I came to see that the move was one of the best things that had ever happened to me. Samantha, whom I have known since my birth, selflessly helped me out. Her friends (you guys know who you are) took me in as one of their own. I will be forever grateful to Samantha and her friends. A few clubbing episodes, one crazy night with my best friend and the evolution of some meaningful friendships opened my eyes. The opportunities in the little red dot we call Singapore were immense, and I had grown to love the nightlife there. I felt safe when I walked down the streets, and almost all of my friends in KL had left to England for their tertiary education.

It was then when I realized this. You cannot be resistant to change. You have to embrace it with open arms. I had wasted so much time fighting change, when it had actually been a blessing in disguise.

Even in minor circumstances, it can be immensely difficult to leave the familiar behind. I too am often guilty of focusing too much on possible consequences, as opposed to the potentially fantastic rewards. I regularly have to remind myself that nothing monumental can be achieved without challenges. Whether we like it or not, two things cannot be prevented in life; death, and change.  Lately, people have been asking me,"Nadia, where are you going to go after you finish your degree?" Two years ago, I would have had an unbreakable, set answer.  Today, I am a little more open to the opportunities that life has to throw at me. In case you're wondering, my answer now is "It depends."

Yes, close friends, I can already see you guys countering me with "But Nadia, you are so cynical." I AM cynical, but mostly about matters of the heart; not so much with life and ambition. Yes, I know I need to continue working on that.

In short, sticking to ones comfort zone ensures predictable, good results. However, stepping out of the box gives one a better chance of living life extraordinarily.

Take a risk, and accept the unfamiliar. Change is your friend, not your enemy.

Respect thy friends.

I have always thought that quick friendships are like candles. The faster they burn, the faster they die out. 'It takes time' is probably one of the most overrated phrases in the human dictionary, but only because we don't want to admit that it's true. Aside from lottery tickets, most extraordinary things don't happen overnight. This applies to friendships too.

When one becomes friends with someone, one signs an invisible code of respect. I believe that people often take their friendships for granted because they assume that the other party will always be there. A violation of the code can happen in many ways; verbal abuse, neglect, betrayal. What people may fail to realize is that friendships don't just mean you are there for the person when they are sobbing their eyes out and their hearts are shattering. It means you are there through the thick, thin, ups and downs. You know when something is going well, or when something is going terribly. A friend lifts you when you are descending into darkness. A friend distinguishes between what you need and what you want to hear, because they respect you enough to tell you the truth.

Whether anyone likes it or not, friendships are relationships. What else would they be? When you're in a healthy (intimate) relationship, you try your best not to infuriate your girlfriend/boyfriend because you don't want them to leave you. You want them to be happy because their joy lifts you. These are not just marks of consideration and kindess; this mentality is the embodiment of respect. Let's break it down. Why would you genuinely want to do something nice for someone? It is because you care for them and you want to. But WHY do you care? Well in my opinion, because you respect them enough as a person.

I am not saying that you and your best friend have to hold hands and text everyday about what kind of cereal you guys eat. I am merely offering a simple suggestion; when you consider someone to be your true friend, respect them. Be loyal to them. If you ask for an opinion, listen. In other words, one must never take their true friends for granted. Time, chemistry, mutual trust and common interests are crucial factors that form friendships, but respect needs to be there to tie these elements up with a pretty little bow.

I'll end my post with this:

If I wake up in the morning because you ask me to,
If I surprise you with something,
If I forgo my own interests and say "no no it's okay, we can talk" when I really should not,
If I know I would take a bullet for you,
If I realize that you accept me regardless of the seemingly endless number of faults I have,
If we can call each other at ridiculous hours because we are comfortable enough to do so,
That is how I know that I truly respect and value you as my friend.

Nick Vujicic; an inspiration.

I'm sure you would have heard (something along the lines of) the following complaints before:

"My arms look so big."
"I hate my legs!"
"Why can't my thighs be thinner?"

I hate to admit it, but I must have made those complaints about a million and one times. I'm a girl and sometimes we are just twits like that, even if we know we are being ungrateful.

Then one fine day, I watched this video and it woke me up quite a bit.

This man, Nick Vujicic, is absolutely remarkable. Born without arms or legs, he still manages to live his life with such a lovely and cheerful demeanour. I remember thinking that culture might have been a factor that led to his sunny disposition, because many of the Australian people I know have a similar outlook on life. This bright and carefree way of living is one of the many things I admire about this country.

Nick's story has inspiration and class embedded deeply and inseparably within it. In hindsight of watching more videos about him, I can see how trivial and redundant my everyday complaints are. This is not to say that I am going to turn into a saint overnight..it just means that I am now a tad more AWARE.

We don't think twice about walking, brushing our teeth or putting our glasses on. We type on our phones, hold hands, play sport and even wiggle our toes without considering how lucky we are to have such basic privileges. I am not saying that this is anyones fault. It is common to associate 'being fortunate' with wealth, not so much with having arms and legs.

I have pondered upon the following question countless times.
Who gave one person the allowance to be so physically beautiful, while another has a deformity on his face? Why is global wealth  unfairly distributed? Why is life seemingly more unkind to some people?

I didn't get my answer until I watched the video above and realized that minor setbacks are often compensated with greater, more exceptional and beautiful qualities. Heroes like Nick Vujicic are born as a necessity; they are angels who are sent to earth to teach the rest of us a very important, simple lesson.
Life is about living.

KONY 2012: Spread the word

'The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.'
-Steve Jobs
A remarkable man -Jason Russell- sought to make the KONY 2012 campaign viral with the aim of capturing a notorious war criminal named Joseph Kony. Kony has been responsible for abducting tens of thousands of children in Africa, and turning them into his child soldiers.  These children have been forced to partake in horrendous acts, some of which include mutilating the faces of innocent civilians and shooting their own parents.

Watch this video, and do your part by spreading the word. Take advantage of the power of social media; one share on your Facebook wall will take you less than 10 seconds.

my life philosophy

This next quote is my 'life philosophy'. It summarizes everything I believe in. Such a great quote!

Ralph Waldo Emerson:

"To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."

stop playing with your phone!

In the past, I never doubted the phenomenon that we call technology.  As a result of it, life has become so much more efficient and interesting. I can sit in front of my computer and learn about whatever I want. Cultures, accents, BOYS, music, you name it.

On the other hand, technology has  also created several negative side effects.

It doesn't bother me that a great majority of us would not be able to survive without our mobile phones or laptops. Technology has made life so much easier for us, and it is fair that we would not want to give that luxury up.

It's the loss of face-to-face communication that scares me.

Ideas have become so easily exchangeable (I can’t tell you how many things I’ve learnt from Facebook statuses), but at the cost of intimacy and personal contact. Break ups happen through text messages, even marriage proposals happen on the radio. People deal with their problems by emailing about them as opposed to talking.

Consider the simplest of examples. You're having dinner with your friend, your son, or your mom, and you're trying to have a conversation with them. However, you can't focus because they keep texting people or playing with their phones. You basically just want to scream, 'LEAVE YOUR PHONE ALONE FOR 10 MINUTES!' Sadly, we don't even realize that the precious moments we take advantage of everyday are consistently interrupted by the buzzing of our mobile phones. I know I'm guilty of succumbing to trivial text messages during family dinners, and I should make a change.

Therefore, face-to-face communication has become a serious opportunity cost as a result of the development of today's gadgets. Yes, technology has fueled globalization in an astonishing manner, but have we lost sight of the more important things in life because of it?

Fate VS Coincidence

Fate and coincidence. Where do we draw the line between the two, if there even is one?

I'm a champion cynic, but after I moved to Melbourne in 2011, I started to see that maybe not all things can be linked to coincidence. I'm a firm believer in timing; timing is everything. BUT, most of the time we tend to perceive that statement negatively.  Think about it. You meet the girl or guy of your dreams, but they're leaving to another country. You love someone but they're not ready to settle down. You want to travel the world but you don't have enough money. Then out come the facebook statuses and the twitter updates: "i'm gonna miss you so much..fml". "my life is horrible bla bla bla."

Sometimes we forget that the 'timing is everything' statement also applies to the positives in life, which is where my belief of fate comes in.

Due to unfortunate circumstances during February 2011, I had to miss my university orientation and thus the golden opportunity to make friends. I chose a random subject to do because someone told me it was good to take it. NEVER DO THAT PLEASE. I had absolutely no idea what it was about, it was called 'From Homer to Hollywood'. I thought it would be about the simpsons or famous people (oh how wrong I was). Anyway I went to one lecture, and dropped it straight away. However, the people I met in the one subject I discontinued pretty much became my closest circle of friends. I was so damn lucky.

Yes, of course you can argue that it was a coincidence. However, the person I am now believes otherwise. You must have had at least one monumental experience that you almost missed (but thankfully didn't). In my opinion, that's the universe's way of placing you somewhere you need to be. It can't be a coincidence that you met someone special..no no no .. moments like that are not an accident. There is a reason for everything.

''Wow my life is so terrible because the timing is so bad and the universe owes me a living..."

Always remember the number of times that fate has been kind to you, when it led you to be at the right place at exactly the right moment.

With that in mind,  I may sound like a preaching saint right now but I assure you I am not. I have a temper and I can be ungrateful. I am sarcastic, ridiculously cynical and I also complain about things. But like you, I'm only human.

I'd also like to add that I know coincidence still exists. For example, it was not fate that you and your colleague wore the same shoes on the same day. Let's not blow things out of proportion kids.

i love *

"I love y**."

NO YOU DO NOT.

Lets refer to those 3 words as the term.

These days people just throw it, bounce it and swing it around like it's okay. Dude it's not okay. The term has completely lost its meaning, and honestly when someone says it to me, I shudder. Half the time I have no idea who means it or who doesn't.  I have people (as I'm sure you do) who I have known for a month telling me that they love me. I mean come on.. give me a break. Chillout we barely know each other.

I'm not trying to win the award for the greatest cynic that ever lived. But in my opinion, the term is the best and most meaningful thing you could ever say to a person, friend, girlfriend, husband, mother, grandfather or child. However in this day and age, it is so ridiculously overused that I can't even bring myself to say it anymore. People who HATE each other post it on each others facebook walls! Tell me this is not true, cringe cringe cringe.

Moral of the story, don't use the term unless you mean it.

why i started this blog

Ok so I have literally started a gazillion blogs.. (key word here is STARTED)

or perhaps 3/4.  All of them have failed (evidently, hah hah). I'm going to make this one count, THIS IS THE BLOG THAT IS GOING TO LIVE!!!

I was inspired to start another blog because of something that happened today.

Someone of a prominent corporate position said,  "Tell me, what is your dream in life?"

And now that I think about it, what makes me jubilant is not that someone of her position would even care about my answer. Well that did make me happy, but it was more that  I actually had an answer. I have a dream, though I have absolutely no clue how I'm going to get there, or even if I will ever get there. People say it's okay, you're still young, you'll figure it out.. but where did 2011 go? It slipped away so fast, and the same will happen with 2012 and life itself. Sometimes I feel like I'm racing with a clock that I cannot see or feel, yet I know it's there.

HOWEVER, I will tell you that I am going to do whatever it takes to reach this goal.

And that is why I started this blog. I needed a vent for all the creative energy that I had. I didn't go back to my other blogs because I forgot their passwords. What an anti climax.

Oh and my name is Nadia.
